As some of you may know, I recently conducted an experiment using mushroom powder, to determine if it would actually make me smarter (you can catch up here) . Over that time period, and though some trial and error , I managed to develop a drink that I LOVED. A drink that gave me sustained energy over the course of my day. A drink that made me more focused and more productive….and I want to share the recipe with you today!
The basis of my drink is the classic BulletProof Coffee recipe. I’ve added some other stuff that I’ve experimented with over time. Each ingredient was added with a purpose in mind. I broke down some of the key players in recipe and some of their benefits.
This is usually the ingredient that freaks people out the most. Why Grass-fed butter? Grass fed means it comes from cows who have been raised on grass, which makes them much healthier than factory force fed cows.
Grass fed butter is extremely nutrient rich, and has many health benefits. Some of these include include decreasing inflammation and actually improving heart health (yes, I’m serious). Butter is also
Everyone likes chocolate right? Besides being delicious, dark chocolate is high in antioxidants and can increase blood flow, and can actually reduce blood pressure. Unfortunately, many people eat lighter, milk chocolate which is much higher in sugar and doesn’t share those same health benefits.
If you’re not sure about the taste of dark chocolate, start with 72% and work your way up. I’ve even bought a 100% dark chocolate bar (it was intense, let me tell you!).
The Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is high in Medium Chain Fatty Acids (MCFA’s for short). MCFA’s have been proven as a natural treatment to Alzheimers. Other benefits include, increased brain function, increased immune system function, and increased energy and endurance. Coconut oil also tastes great, making it a great vehicle for cooking and adding into pretty much anything else you want!
Cinnamon is a powerful little spice, and readily available pretty much everywhere. Cinnamon helps increase metabolism and can actually lower fasting blood sugar levels. This means cinnamon is a great addition for anyone who is trying to lose weight, or have more energy throughout the day!

8-10 oz Hot, Brewed Cofee
1 Tablespoon of Grass-fed butter
1 small square of Organic Dark Chocolate (72% and above)
1 teaspoon Coconut Oil
1 Teaspoon Om Lion’s Mane Mushroom Powder
a couple shakes of Cinnamon
1-2 Tablespoons Almond Milk (optional)
Combine all ingredients into blender
Blend for 20-30 seconds
Pour in your favorite mug
Drink and go be a genius!!
